What are the new cheque-printing standards?

The Canadian Payments Association (CPA) has announced new specifications which all cheques must conform to by December 2006.

The new cheque specifications are in effect right now. Printers and companies that print their own cheques are encouraged to begin making the required system changes as early as possible. All Canadian business cheques should conform with the new specifications by December 31, 2006.
